Among these efforts, what today we call “numerology” stands out—not as a mere curiosity or superstition, but as an enduring impulse to use numerical patterns and relationships as a means of interpretation and insight. While the term “numerology” itself is modern, a range of ancient systems used numbers to structure understanding of time, personality, and fate.
